A subtle renovation restores the original character while modernizing for life safety and code compliance.
Built as a hotel in 1904, The Argyll originally served BC loggers when they were in town. The small living spaces met their needs, as they spent most of their time working or on the Hastings ‘strip.’ The renovation of the second and third floors updates the single-room accommodations. The alterations retain and restore original features such as the fir flooring, staircases, doors, and windows while ensuring occupant health and safety through building code upgrades.
